Scholastic Parent and Child magazine has teamed with literacy experts and parents to create a new list of the "100 Greatest Books for Kids."

Their goal was to create a list of books that are "culturally representative," cover a range of genres, and are appropriate for children from infancy through middle school.  Some of the books are award winners.  Some of them have been around for 60 or more years.  Some of them are brand-new.

Series are represented by the first book in the series.
